Great day today paddle boarding and talking about the importance of protecting our coast from off-shore oil drilling at the Redondo Beach pier! People from all over the South Bay came out to join in and enjoy our paddle boarding as well! Many thanks to the Paddle House!
Tonight I co-hosted a heartfelt interfaith dialogue with the Islamic Center of South Bay. We must find a way to come together as a community, and learn to love instead of hate. Special thanks to our wonderful panelists: Rabbi Arinna Shelby, Reverend John Iwohara, Dan Galorath, and Osman Umarji.
Assemblymember Al Muratsuchi attended and spoke at the CAUSE graduation event. Sabrina Inoue was our great CAUSE intern for the summer! Congratulations to her! We will miss her.
Had the greatest honor this morning to serve as "Team Captain" for the "Community Basketball Team" where it's always about the kids at Camp Escapades, one of Pediatric Therapy Network's programs! PTN provides prevention, early identification and therapy to 2,500 children a year.

Today I hosted Assembly District 66's "Women of Distinction 2017" event in downtown Torrance. Proud to honor these amazing South Bay women leaders for their hard work and commitment to the community!
Carol Pike Bauer, a former aerospace engineer with McDonnell Douglas, was recognized as the “Woman of the Year 2017”.

This week I officially took the oath to serve on the California Wildlife Conservation Board, which helps to preserve and protect wildlife habitats. As a member of the board, I look forward to taking on the challenges that we face as a state and global leader in addressing environmental issues that affect our wildlife and our communities.
