The South Bay area will be hosting several events and resources for residents impacted by the Southern California wildfires.

Torrance

The Crest Sports Bar and Grill Donation Drive

  • Monday - Sunday, 11 a.m. - 10 p.m.
  • 1625 Cabrillo Ave
  • Accepting donations of any kind to be distributed to various shelters for victims and first responders

Salvation Army Torrance

Torrance-South Bay YMCA

  • 2900 W Sepulveda Blvd.
  • Accepting donations and providing free childcare and meals to first responders and evacuees.

  • 211LA.org is partnering with AirBnb and coordinating free accommodations for evacuees.

El Segundo

Hilton Garden Inn LAX/El Segundo

  • 2100 E Mariposa Ave.
  • Hosting evacuees. They are also taking donations of any kind of freshly washed clothing, diapers and toys for all ages, toiletries, food, water and pet supplies.
  • If you can help these families, please drop off the items at the front desk (2100 E Mariposa Ave.) All items will be distributed between nearby hotels with evacuees and shelters.

CRAFTED at the Port of Los Angeles

  • Drop-off location for donations on 1/10/25 and 1/11/25 from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m.

Toberman Neighborhood Center

  • Providing services and grab-n-go lunches on 1/10/25.

Hermosa Beach

Guidestone Church

  • Seeking clothing for all ages, new hygiene products, food, bottled water and baby formula, blankets, sleeping bags and bedding, books, puzzles, games, phone chargers and extension cords. Moving boxes, crates and banquet tables are also needed.
  • Donation hours:
    Saturday, Jan. 11 (8 a.m. to 2 p.m.)

  • Currently accepting online donations to support their efforts.

California Community Foundation

  • You can make a monetary donation online or by mailing a check to the "California Community Foundation" at 717 W. Temple St., Los Angeles 90012. Include "Wildfire Recovery Fund" in the memo.

Uber and Lyft are helping evacuated residents with free rides to shelter locations.

  • Evacuees can redeem a free Uber ride up to $40 by applying the promo code "WILDFIRE25" in the Wallet section of their Uber app before requesting a ride to a designated shelter location.
  • For Lyft, "CAFIRERELIEF25" is the code for a free ride worth up to $25. Each user can use the code for two rides maximum.
  • Airbnb, in collaboration with 211 LA, is offering free temporary housing for residents displaced or forced to evacuate due to the devastating wildfires in Los Angeles County.
