Vaping Prevention Town Hall

More than 3.6 million middle and high school students currently use e-cigarettes. In light of the growing vaping epidemic, I will be hosting a Vaping Prevention Town Hall at Manhattan Beach Middle School on October 14. Experts will be discussing the dangers of vaping, why kids are choosing to vape and how to know if your child is vaping. They will also discuss how to talk to your child about the dangers of this vice. Representatives from local school districts will be talking about what they are doing to prevent it in their schools. Please join us.

Assemblymember Al Muratsuchi, in conjunction with the City of Torrance and Heal the Bay, invites you to the 30th Annual Coastal Cleanup day!

Every year, volunteers throughout the region prevent hundreds of pounds of trash from entering the marine environment. Invite your friends and family to take action, preserve California's beaches for generations to come, and discuss legislation protecting the oceans and environment.

Child Road Safety Event

Is your child’s car seat installed correctly?It is estimated more than 85% of all car seats are improperly installed. Don’t miss out on this free opportunity to have your child’s seat checked by certified California Highway Patrol technicians.

Did you know that millions of Americans ride bicycles, but fewer than half wear bicycle helmets?Annually, 26,000 kids experience head injuries in bike accidents—wearing a properly fitted helmet every time you and your children ride is one important prevention method. At this Child Road Safety Event, children are encouraged to bring their bikes and helmets for a safety check by the South Bay Bicycle Coalition and the Beach Cities Cycling Club.This event will provide tips on bike safety and safe routes to school, and is also a great opportunity to discuss any legislative issues or ideas you may have.
