State Assemblymember Al Muratsuchi (D-Torrance) donned a wet suit on Saturday and joined about two dozen local constituents on stand-up paddleboards to draw attention to coastal issues.

Muratsuchi, who plans to introduce a resolution next week at the State Capitol declaring June 17 “International Surfing Day,” said he was working hard to protect the coastline and coastal economies such as the Redondo Beach waterfront.

MURATSUCHI ADVANCES BILL ON CULTURALLY SENSITIVE SENIOR HEALTH CARE

SACRAMENTO — Assembly Bill 651, authored by Assemblymember Al Muratsuchi (D-Torrance), passed the Assembly Health Committee on March 28 on a bipartisan vote of 11-1.
