Toured Paramount Pictures last week along with other Los Angeles-area Assemblymembers and Senators. We heard from the motion picture industry about the economic impact and jobs created by the industry in Southern California, as well as some of the industry's challenges.
Participated in Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority's Greater Los Angeles Homeless Count last night in San Pedro. I was joined by my staff members Erick Ponce-Furlos and Becky Cheng.
The purpose of the count is to determine the number of unhoused in Los Angeles County, and specifically the South Bay, to ultimately deliver resources and services where they are needed the most.
I participated in a vigil today along with other members of the API Legislative Caucus for the Monterey Park shooting at the Capitol in Sacramento.
Our hearts go out to the families affected by this tragedy. It's especially hard during this time, as families are meant to be celebrating not grieving during the Lunar New Year.
We are all sick and tired of gun violence in America. I will continue to strongly support common sense gun control. #lunarnewyear2023

I recently toured the local plant of Air Products, which focuses on, in part, world-scale carbon-free hydrogen projects supporting global transportation and the energy transition. Hydrogen is a green energy that will help to reduce greenhouse emissions and keep our environment safe. Thanks to Air Products for the tour and your work with hydrogen energy.
Gardena-Carson Family YMCA provides great programs and services for South Bay families, including a preschool affiliated with LAUSD, after school tutoring, and great sports facilities.

On this #VeteransDay, honoring all veterans who have served our country. US Air Force Colonel Mia Walsh is Base Commander of the Los Angeles Air Force Base, Space Force Delta 3, in El Segundo.
She gave a great keynote speech at the Aerospace Corporation in El Segundo talking about how she is proud to be from the Big Island of Hawaii and that she was inspired to serve her country by another Big Island native, astronaut Ellison Onizuka.
