#SolidarityLA rally and march to fight Donald Trump dismantling public education and defunding our schools.
Today, I participated in a rally at the State Capitol, put on by the California Afterschool Advocacy Alliance, to protest President Donald Trump's plan to defund the U.S. Department of Education, which would eliminate federal afterschool funding for middle and high school students. The rally supported the Governor’s 2025 budget proposal, which increased the state's historic $4 billion annual investment in the Expanded Learning Opportunities Program (ELO-P).
I was honored as California's "Champion for every child". Thank you to California Afterschool Advocacy Alliance - CA3!
Thank you to the City of Gardena - City Hall for hosting their annual Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Commemorative Parade!
I recently participated in the API legislative caucus' second AAPI Leadership Summit.
This event aims to increase AAPI representation in high-level positions through leadership and skills training.
Thank you to the API legislative caucus!
Assemblymember Muratsuchi introduced HR 12, relative to Japanese American concentration camps, on the Assembly Floor.
I recently welcomed members of the San Pedro delegation of the YMCA youth and government program to Sacramento. This program provides students with hands-on experience in the legislative process, helping to develop the next generation of civic leaders.
The students were in Sacramento sponsoring a bill requiring all high school football players to wear "guardian caps," reducing their risk of brain injuries.
Thanks for joining me in Sacramento!
As Chair of the Assembly Education Committee, it is great to welcome California State PTA to Sacramento for their annual Legislative Conference!
