Muratsuchi Resolution Recognizes the 75th Anniversary of Executive Order 9066

“Never Again.”

(SACRAMENTO) -  The State Assembly today passed Assembly Concurrent Resolution (ACR) 1, by Assemblymember Al Muratsuchi (D-Torrance), proclaiming February 19, 2017, as the 75th Anniversary of the issuance of Executive Order 9066 and recognizing a Day of Remembrance in California. 

Awards honor Hermosa Beach’s emerging leaders

Surveying the crowd at Leadership Hermosa’s annual emerging leader awards ceremony, Assemblymember Al Muratsuchi (D-Torrance) noted that the nominees represented much “of what makes Hermosa Beach so special.” Muratsuchi pointed out faces in the crowd, and mentioned following the quest of nominee Morgan Sliff to surf for 366 days in a year (and counting).

Muratsuchi Introduces AB 461 to Provide Student Loan Debt Relief

(SACRAMENTO) – Today, Assemblymember Al Muratsuchi (D - Torrance) introduced Assembly Bill (AB) 461.  The proposed measure would exempt individuals from incurring a burdensome and unfair tax liability when their student loans are forgiven under federal repayment programs.
