ABC7 Talks with Assemblymember Muratsuchi About ‘Panic Button’ Bill

(Los Angeles) – A recent report from ABC 7 Eyewitness News (KABC-TV) focused on legislation by Assemblymember Al Muratsuchi (D-Torrance) to protect hotel employees from sexual assaults and harassment. Assembly Bill 1761 will require hotel employers to provide a ‘panic button’ to their employees to prevent violent assaults and sexual harassment. "This is a problem that I think is larger than what many folks in the hotel industry either acknowledge or recognize," said Assemblymember Muratsuchi. "The problem is that a lot of these women are afraid of reporting these incidents because they are afraid of losing their job." Watch the ABC 7 story in this Assembly Assets video.
