(Manhattan Beach, CA) - Assemblymember Al Muratsuchi (D-Torrance) hosted Family Surf Day in El Porto, Manhattan Beach in the South Bay. It was a day filled with fun activities for children and their families who share a love for surfing, the ocean and the states beaches. Assemblymember Muratsuchi also talked about his bill, AB 1782 which would declare surfing as California’s official sport. “There is no California sport more iconic than surfing and it represents the beauty and culture of California including our history and traditions, and it also represents our love for the ocean and our beaches and the importance of protecting them for future generations,” said Muratsuchi. “California will host the 2028 Olympics so I want to ensure surfing is our official sate sport as we welcome people from all over the world to the South Bay and sunny Southern California.” Here's more from Surf Day in this Assembly Access video.
