Torrance, CA – Assemblymember Al Muratsuchi (D-Torrance) introduced AB 1502, the Skilled Nursing Facility Ownership and Management Reform Act, which would give the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) stronger authority to prohibit unqualified and unethical owners and operators from owning and operating skilled nursing facilities in the State of California.

Governor Gavin Newsom signs Toxic-Free Cosmetics Act, banning the manufacture or sale of cosmetic products containing 24 specified toxic chemicals

Torrance, CA – Governor Gavin Newsom today signed Assembly Bill (AB) 2762, the Toxic-Free Cosmetics Act which, starting in 2025, will prohibit the manufacture or sale of any cosmetic product in the State of California containing any of 24 specified toxic chemicals, consistent with a similar prohibition previously enacted by the European Union and other countries.
