California Police Chiefs Association awards Assemblymember Al Muratsuchi Legislator of the Year award

Torrance, CA – Assemblymember Al Muratsuchi is proud to announce that the California Police Chiefs Association has chosen him as their 2017 Legislator of the Year.  The award is given to the state legislator who best supported public safety issues and also worked collaboratively with the state’s police chiefs.

“I am honored to receive the California Police Chiefs Association 2017 Legislator of the Year award.  As a former prosecutor, I am proud of my 100 percent public safety voting record.  Public safety is, and always will be, a top priority for me,” said Assemblymember Al Muratsuchi (D-Torrance).

“Assemblyman Muratsuchi has a deep respect and admiration for his community and our state. His drive to provide real solutions to public safety issues shows that his passion and commitment to Californians’ wellbeing rises above any other interest,” said David Swing, President of the California Police Chiefs Association. “We are honored to recognize Assemblyman Muratsuchi as our Legislature of the Year and look forward to working with him in the years to come.”

Assemblymember Al Muratsuchi represents California’s 66th Assembly District, which includes El Camino Village, Gardena, Harbor City, Harbor Gateway, Hermosa Beach, Lomita, Los Angeles, Manhattan Beach, Palos Verdes Estates, Rancho Palos Verdes, Redondo Beach, Rolling Hills, Rolling Hills Estates, Torrance, and West Carson.  He serves as Chairman of the Joint Legislative Audit Committee and the Assembly Select Committee on Aerospace.  Muratsuchi is a member of the Assembly Committees on Budget, Budget Subcommittee on Education Finance, Environmental Safety and Toxic Materials, Natural Resources, Utilities and Energy, and Veterans Affairs.
