Wildfire Preparedness Town Hall

Wednesday, November 18, 2020

Last night, I hosted a Wildfire Preparedness Town Hall for the Palos Verdes Peninsula. We discussed how we could be more prepared as a community to address issues surrounding wildfires—from evacuation routes to insurance costs. I want to thank the cities of Rancho Palos Verdes, Palos Verdes Estates, Rolling Hills Estates and Rolling Hills for their enthusiastic participation in this crucial dialogue.

I also want to thank my panelists:
Battalion Chief Jason Robertson of LA County Fire
Bob Stiens of SoCal Edison
Peter Meza of the California Department of Insurance
Jesse Villalpando, Emergency Preparedness, City of Rancho Palos Verdes (presenting on behalf of the 4 Peninsula Cities)
Captain James Powers, LA County Sheriff.
