I recently had the honor of swearing in the re-elected Palos Verdes Library District Board of Trustees members.

Libraries are an essential part of our community. The California Governor recently signed my AB 1825, the California Freedom to Read Act. This bill, now law, prohibits public libraries from banning books because of topics, views, ideas, or opinions or in a manner that discriminates based on race, nationality, gender identity, sexual orientation, religion, disability, political affiliation, or socioeconomic status.
