Last week, I was proud to join my fellow Co-chairs Senator Josh Newman & Senator Dave Cortese to launch the California-Japan Legislative Forum. This Forum will enhance cooperation between the legislatures of California and Japan in addressing shared priorities such as fighting climate change, developing clean energy, and fostering innovation between the world’s 3rd and 5th largest economies. I would like to thank Assembly Speaker Robert Rivas and Senate President pro Tem Mike McGuire, and members of the Senate and Assembly that joined us to celebrate the establishment of the Forum.

I would like to thank Consul General Osumi from the Consulate General of Japan in San Francisco, Consul General Sone from Consulate General of Japan in Los Angeles, and Councillor Iwao Horii of the National Diet of Japan for their partnership on this Forum.
