Asm. Muratsuchi with former Amache internee Sam Shimada & Japanese American civil rights activists

February 19 is a Day of Remembrance marking the 80th anniversary of President Franklin Roosevelt's Executive Order 9066, which led to the unjust incarceration of over 120,000 Japanese Americans solely because of their race during World War II.

I introduced House Resolution 85 to declare a #DayOfRemembrance throughout the State of California. Former Amache internee Sam Shimada and Japanese American civil rights activists came to the State Capitol to support the resolution. May we never forget.
