A Future LA County Without Hate

Proud to have participated in a panel, entitled "A Future LA County Without Hate", as part of a Los Angeles County "LA vs Hate United Against Hate" Week.

We discussed the spike in hate crimes, particularly against Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Earlier this year, I introduced AB 557, a bill that will require the California Department of Justice (CA DOJ) to establish a toll-free hotline as well as an online reporting system to report hate crimes and hate incidents.

We must all remember that hate crimes are crimes against an entire community, not just an individual victim. We cannot stand idly by and allow these crimes to continue to happen. I will work hard to fight against all hate crimes in the South Bay, Los Angeles County and the State of California.
