UCLA Asian American Studies Center's Policy Series

I was honored to participate in in the first of UCLA Asian American Studies Center's policy series.

Through the assistance of the California Asian Pacific Islander Legislative Caucus, UCLA Asian American Studies Center along with the Asian Business Association were able to survey over 400 API small businesses on how the pandemic affected their businesses, their efforts to get assistance and relief, how they adapted to the disruption and their recovery plans. This survey is unique because it also covers the impact of anti-Asian hate on Asian American businesses, and the results show that a large majority have been affected.

Thank you to Thank you Karen Umemoto of UCLA Asian American Studies Center for inviting me today, and to Professor Paul Ong and Alycia Cheng for their hard work on this survey.
