Julian Katz Memorial Child Road Safety Day 2018
I hosted my 2nd Annual Child Road Safety Day at West Torrance High School on Saturday morning. California Highway Patrol properly installed 28 car seats, keeping children safe on the road. The South Bay Bicycle Coalition hosted a safety training obstacle course, gave away free bike helmets, and taught families how to correctly fit helmets to their child’s head. This year I dedicated this event to the memory of Julian Katz, the founder of the South Bay Bicycle Coalition, who recently passed away. Julian was a great friend and an even better person. He helped shape the bike culture in the South Bay and made it safer for cyclists on the busy streets of the Beach Cities.
