(Santa Monica, CA) - Assemblymember Al Muratsuchi (D-Torrance) joined other leaders and dozens of supporters for a “Protect the Pacific” rally at the Santa Monica pier. Assemblymember Muratsuchi has introduced new legislation to counter the Trump administration’s efforts to re-open oil drilling off the California coast. His Assembly Bill 1775 would prohibit the State Lands Commission from approving any new leases for pipelines, piers, wharves, or other infrastructure needed to support new federal oil and gas development in the three-mile area off the coast.
