(Bakersfield, CA) – Legislation by Assemblymember Al Muratsuchi (D-Torrance) to protect hotel employees from sexual assaults and harassment was the focus of a recent report on KBAK Eyewitness News in Bakersfield. Assembly Bill 1761 will require hotel employers to provide a ‘panic button’ to their employees to prevent violent assaults and sexual harassment. "The hospitality industry is where the customer is always supposed to be right- and I think it's hard for a lot of these women who otherwise may not be used to speaking out to speak out against sexual harassment," said Assemblymember Muratsuchi.
