I wanted to bring to your attention a new program for small businesses through Covered California. The Premium Deferral Program is aimed at helping hundreds of small businesses continue to provide health insurance to their employees during the current COVID-19 pandemic.

This new program will allow businesses that have not paid their April or May health insurance premiums to pay a minimum amount and defer costs for the rest of the year, and providing a 30 day grace period for April and May premiums.

While Covered California for Small Business (CCSB) will be conducting extensive outreach to alert employers to the new program, employers who would like to participate must contact the CCSB service center at (877) 777-6782, or CCSB@covered.ca.gov, within 10 business days of being notified.
