COVID-19 Update

Dear Neighbor:

On March 17th the California Public Utilities Commission, which regulates privately owned energy, water, sewer, and communications companies in California, determined that companies should halt the disconnections of services as a result of non-payments in accordance with the State of Emergency due to COVID-19. For more information on this order or the utility in your area, please visit their website.

Additionally, the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (LADWP) has committed to protect financially vulnerable customers, assist those that are impacted by the crisis, and defer disconnections for non-payments until the end of March at this time. For assistance, please reach them via their website or at 1-800-DIAL-DWP.

Further, members of the California Cable and Telecommunications Association which includes our cable, telecom, and internet providers, recently signed on to the "Keep American Connected Pledge." Under this pledge, companies agreed to not terminate any residential or small business customer for an inability to pay, waive late fees, and provide access to Wi-Fi hot spots for the next 60 days due to the pandemic.

If you are having any trouble getting in contact with any of the companies that provide service to you, please reach out to my district office at 310-375-0691 or email me at Assemblymember.Muratsuchi@assembly.ca.gov.

We are all in this together.

Sincerely,

Signature
