AB 365 – Education for Military Families:  Creates an exemption for certain, district-specific high school graduation requirements for students who have completed their second year of high school and are children of active military personnel.  Under current law, this exemption is afforded to students who are in foster care, homeless, or juvenile detention. http://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/billNavClient.xhtml?bill_id=201720180AB365

AB 491 -- Civil Liberties Program:  Designates an annual appropriation of $1,000,000 in General Funds to the State Library, which will administer allocation of the funds to public schools and programs for the implementation of civil liberties education, activities and curriculum.  The appropriation is recurring over three, consecutive fiscal years and includes a reporting requirement upon conclusion. http://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/billNavClient.xhtml?bill_id=201720180AB491

AB 651 -- Culturally Competent Care Facilities:  Require notice to the Attorney General of a nonprofit health facility transfer to include a list of the languages widely spoken in that county, authorize the A.G. to require written notice in one of those languages, require the A.G. to consider if the transfer may have an adverse impact on significant cultural interests of the community, and extends the time period the A.G. has to issue a decision from 60 days to 90. http://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/billNavClient.xhtml?bill_id=201720180AB651

AB 1449 -- Special Ed Funding:  Creates a special education add-on grant under LCFF for students with exceptional needs, in addition to the existing base, supplemental, and concentration grants.  The special education add-on would function similar to existing supplemental grants for ESL, foster, and school lunch program students who are designated as high-needs under LCFF. http://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/billNavClient.xhtml?bill_id=201720180AB1449

AB 1452 – Electric Vehicle Parking Ordinances: Permits a local authority to designate certain spaces or stalls exclusively for the charging and parking of electric vehicles.  Requires local authority to post signs clearly marking the space or stall as an electric vehicle space.  Authorizes a local authority to remove vehicles from EV spaces or stalls, if the vehicle is not connected for charging purposes. http://leginfo.legislature.ca.gov/faces/billNavClient.xhtml?bill_id=201720180AB1452
